We involve more than 25 years extensive experience providing detailed editing for academic, technical, and general applications. Our editing style is based on content focus, idea development and support, paragraph development, sentence structure, word choice, grammar and punctuation.
Extensive Manuscript, Thesis, and Paper Editing:
- Edited multiple drafts of a 300-page book from typed pages; An Endless Series of Hobgoblins; The Science and Politics of Environmental Health Scares. Publisher: Foundation for Economic Education, New York, NY 1995
- Evaluated and updated a grammar text as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Collegiate Press, Alta Loma, CA; The Analytical Writer: A College Rhetoric, 1995.
- Edited a 168-page novel entitled Truesight. Publisher: HarperCollins, New York, NY 2004
- Edited a 7-page children’s book with illustrations entitled The Gekkleberry Tree. Publisher: Scholargy, Inc., Phoenix, AZ, 2005.
Extensive Book Editing:
- Edited four 8-page manuscripts for publication authored by Ignacio Palacios-Huerta, Assistant Professor, Amos Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH.
- Edited up to eight masters theses (80 – 100 pages each) per year for more that five years. Work involved editing conceptual and written content. Authors were international students, non-native English speakers.
- Edited over 100 papers (10 – 30 pages) each term by graduate and undergraduate students with a wide spectrum _of writing abilities. This editing was extensive and instructional in nature. Over the years, I have been commended _for significant success in sharply reducing the writing error ratio per student in the course of each term.
- Copy edited a 200-page manuscript for publication authored by Shelly Deane, Assistant Professor in Government at Dartmouth Collage, Hanover, NH.
- Copy edited a 40-page instruction manual for Electronic Payment Providers, Inc., Phoenix, AZ.
Formal Report Editing:
- Edited ten accreditation reports for Mascoma Valley Regional High School, Canaan, NH. Project required more than 40 hours: corrected grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistent voice and diction.
Related Experience:
- Copy edited a 10-page report for the Eastman Community Association’s recreation facility, Grantham, NH.
- Copy edited an 80-page business plan for AllowCard of America, Mesa, AZ.
Teaching - Professional Strengths- Advisor:
- More than 20 years experience teaching “The Writing Process” to college undergraduates and advanced-degree students. Subject matter included subject definition, research, library tools, documentation, and drafting.
- More than three years experience teaching students from various cultures to speak conversational English.
- Advised and guided independent study students. Oversaw all aspects of their study and kept them focused: identifying and pinpointing the study; research; hypothesis; and expository written reports.
